To put forward the inclusive, eco-socialist and feminist values of the Green Party of Quebec, Mélina Paquette engages in politics to represent and inform the voters of her constituency on the decisions made in the field. Born in Val D'or, she holds a certificate in teaching and is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Social Work at the University of Abitibi-Témiscamingue.
Her implications vary between commitments within the university campus, to students and a trip to Peru to gain experience in the humanitarian field. Very involved in college life, she has set up the committee of her school, which organizes many activities to improve everyday life on campus.
From a local point of view, our candidate aims to diversify the economy of the region. She advocates for stricter environmental standards with exploitation by mining companies in Abitibi-Est. She would also like to improve relations with First Nations in the territory by promoting greater respect for their rights.
In addition to being a dynamic person with a gift for leadership, Melina is an activist for the respect of the environment of our province. She also claims for better health service nearby and greater social solidarity within the province to facilitate living together. As a pansexual, she also advocates for the recognition and respect of the rights of marginalized people, indigenous people, sexual and gender minorities, cultural and religious.
For Mélina Paquette, each vote for of the Green Party of Quebec proves that the ideas defended by the party resonate with the population. She would like to ensure that our province and its citizens are healthy, educated and prosperous, and would be honored to have your support in the upcoming 2018 elections in Abitibi-Est. Every vote counts!
