Stéphanie Dufresne has been working to protect the environment for more than 15 years. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Geography from the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières, a Master's degree in Environment from the Université de Sherbrooke, a certificate in philosophy and a training in journalism. She has worked as an analyst on boards of inquiry and public hearings on the environment and as a specialist in the field of green energy.
Stéphanie, who grew up in Laval, spent all the summers of her childhood in the heart of the Mauricie National Park nature, both of which guided her personal and professional development. She had the opportunity to live in several regions of Quebec, including Montreal, Quebec, Estrie, Nunavik and Mauricie, where she moved in 2016.
Stéphanie Dufresne has chosen to join the team of the Green Party of Quebec because she identifies with the party's environmental, feminist and social values and wants to see them throughout all public policies. It aspires to contribute to a social transformation in favor of progressive and innovative social programs; full protection of biodiversity and greater consideration of the interdependence of living species.
A mother of two boys aged 10 and 12, that she home-schooled for three years, Stéphanie is interested in alternative methods of education aimed at the integral development of children and bringing them closer to nature. She is also very interested in agroecology, permaculture and social economy initiatives.
At the local level, it translates into a commitment to support local purchasing initiatives and green housing, to encourage the establishment of alternative schools, to improve access to streams for recreational tourism purposes and support the development of community gardens, public markets, services and convenience stores in Champlain.
Stéphanie Dufresne is convinced that Quebecers are increasingly aware of the Green Party's social project and the values of social and environmental justice it conveys. For her, each vote for the Green Party of Quebec contributes to its development and demonstrates that the values, proposals and ideas defended by the party resonate with citizens and they must take a greater place in the public debate. For all these reasons, Stéphanie Dufresne would be honoured to count on your support during the elections. Every vote counts!
