Yan Dominic Couture is an artist, ecologist and worker who lives in the city of Amos since 2003. Born in Val d'Or in 1966, he goes into politics for the first time in order to claim more respect towards the environment, First Nations, better access to affordable housing and greater inclusion of minority groups in Québec society.
For Yan, the fate of First Nations in the region, their autonomy, living conditions and lack of services are among his top priorities for his campaign. He is born of two Métis parents and his roots are Mi'Kmaques, Algonquines and Quebecoises. The environment, animals, ecology and social justice are issues that he has always taken to heart.
The defense of minorities is a particularly important issue for Yan, whether they are ethnic, religious, linguistic or sexual minorities. Being a transgender himself, he understands the realities of the LGBTQ + community in the region and is committed to working hard to build bridges, break down prejudice and encourage a more inclusive society. He chose to be a member of the Green Party of Quebec because of the party's eco-socialist, multicultural and feminist vision of bringing together people from all walks of life.
In his free time, Yan is passionate about visual art, singing and music. For him, every vote in favor of the Green Party of Quebec shows that our ideas resonate with the public, help us to take a place in the public debate and contribute significantly to the development of the Green Party. For all these reasons, Yan Dominic Couture would be honored to have your support in the 2018 general election. Every vote counts!
